I have always loved scented candles! There is nothing like having the warm glow and scent of a candle to really make you relax and put you in a great mood.

When I first started looking for a home based business I knew without a doubt that selling candles was the business for me! It just made "scents"! Everyone that I knew burned scented candles. Selling candles is so easy! I did not have to explain anything or give a presentation, I just let everyone smell them and they bought them! Candles are a consumable product and that meant re-peat sales which is extremely important in a business!

In 2001 I began my search online to become a candle distributor...

I was not interested in becoming a candle demonstrator. (There is a difference!) I wanted to purchase the candles at wholesale and then sell them. That way I would cut out the middle man and I would be making the bulk of the profit. I also wanted to sell candles online so I would not be limited to only selling locally.

Well after contacting a few very well know candle companies I quickly became discouraged. They all wanted $2,000.00 to $5,000.00 to start and any re-orders were a minimum of $1,000.00 each! WOW! My friends loved candles but there was NO WAY that they would be purchasing candles in bulk like that!

I decided that my only option was to become a candle demonstrator. I joined a very well know candle company and made a measly 25% commission on sales. With the cost of the kit around $200 I had to sell over 50 large jar candles just to cover the cost of the kit and to break even. I hated that, but I did not have thousands of dollars to invest in my own candle business at the time. Sales were pretty good, I was paying $10 a month for the online candle store and I was happy with them until one day something changed...

I burned one of these vegetable blend candles out of an obligation.

You see, I was a member of a swap group online where we would take turns purchasing products from each other every month. I was not interested in ordering a candle since I already sold candles but I was obliged to and so I did. I had never heard of a vegetable blend candle and I knew nothing about the benefits of burning them until one day I went to light the candle and I noticed something different about it... It did not have that black soot all over the jar like the candles that I sold had. It also burned completely even and there wasn't any holes down the middle. Another important thing that I noticed is that it still smelled great!

I was in shock and I ran to my computer. (No Joke!) I searched online to purchase another one of these vegetable based candles. The person that I purchased this awesome candle from did not have her contact information on the candle and I was no longer a member of that swap group so I was on the search!

I was not looking to sign up for another candle company because I was not about to purchase another kit demonstrator. I was just going to continue selling the other candles and burn these ones myself. Sounds horrible I know, but I was sick of the black soot all over my walls, ceilings and everywhere! It was even all over my Tupperware that was in my cupboard!!!

I found a distributors website and started looking around. To my surprise, this candle company offered something called The Candle of the Month Program (COTM). The candle website said that when you joined the COTM program for $39.95 a month you would receive the new scent of the month which contained 1 - 16oz jar candle, a dozen votives and one of their gourmet bath bars. You would also receive a website at no extra cost! Members of the COTM program were also able to purchase extra scented candles and other products at WHOLESALE PRICES!!!

There were NO monthly quotas or huge wholesale buying minimums and no extra fees for the website!

I signed up online right there on the spot! I picked my username and received my own website to market the products and the opportunity in less than 5 minutes! I knew this candle was the best scented candle that I had ever burned in my life and and I did not have to purchase another kit! WOOO HOOO!

This was December 27th of 2004. It was one of the best days of my life. My dream came true... I was a candle distributor! I made the bulk of the money, I have my online candle store and I am making a wonderful residual income every month from just showing people how they can purchase our candles at wholesale and start their own candle business!

I am changing lives by offering candle lovers a cleaner burning, non-toxic, natural wax scented candle that I can believe in. I am also helping others to make their business dreams come true with a product that almost every household uses! Now how cool is that!!
